About

I grew up in Kolkata and spent five years at the Indian Statistical Institute there, first for a Bachelor's and then a Master's in Statistics. In 2026 I moved to Singapore for a PhD at NUS, where I work on long-read transcriptomics at the A*STAR Genome Institute of Singapore (A*STAR GIS).

I started programming in school, mostly in C++, and that is how I got into open source. I contributed to the Citra and yuzu emulators as a teenager, then to Heroic Games Launcher, and more recently to Zotero, Stirling-PDF and Bioconductor, alongside packaging PLINK for Arch Linux.

At ISI I worked on projects in Bayesian statistics, statistical genetics, EEG data and single-cell transcriptomics, along with a good deal of survey data on India. I also handled much of the technical side of Integration, ISI's annual fest, and was its convener for the 2024 edition.

I speak English, Hindi and Bengali natively, and I'm working on my German.

Uses

Arch Linux

My operating system on both my laptop and a home server. It stays current without being unstable, and the AUR is where I maintain the PLINK packages.

Claude

What I use day to day for code and research, mostly through Claude Code in the terminal, and what this site was built with.

VS Code

Where I write most of my R, Python and TypeScript.

Zotero

My reference manager, used with a self-hosted setup, and a project I have contributed to.

LaTeX

For anything that ends up as a PDF, such as papers, reports and my CV.

Cloudflare

DNS, email routing and Workers, including the Worker that serves this site.

Svelte

This site is built with SvelteKit and mdsvex, using Bun.
